Plus One Shabu Shabu @ Bandar Puteri Puchong

After a short hiatus from steamboat feast, here we are again! Enjoying a majestic spread at Plus One Shabu Shabu which is located at Bandar Puteri Puchong. The restaurant owner, Steven, who is also a decent soup enthusiast by himself, often experiments in coming up with new soup broth. He always puts his diners’ satisfaction as his top priority, besides ensuring the food served is of top notch and fresh.

One of the star stealer here is that you can choose from 18 types of nutritious soup broth that you prefer. It is pretty unique and offers the most varieties thus far that I have come across, as far as steamboat fare is of concern. Undeniably, each broth has its own attraction and are set to warm your soul :)

Even famous local DJ, Chan Fong, has dropped by before with a smile.

These are the few soups that we called for:

Macau Pork Bone with Corn Broth

Preserved Egg with Chinese Parsley Broth

White Fungus Papaya Broth

Thai Tom Yam Broth

Pepper Pork Broth

As for myself, this time round, I opt to try out the Macau Pork Bone with Corn Broth, so to really enjoy the sweetness from this big pork bone boiled soup. The soup comes very clear and am able to taste the decent sweetness from the bone but without any strong porky aroma. Glad to have that!  ^_^

Each diner would be served with the primary steamboat choice which includes thinly stripped yee mee, crunchy cabbage, Siu Pak Choy, Enoki mushroom, sweet corn, fried bean curd skin and many more.

As for the accompanied steamboat set that you desire, you can select the one stays nearest to your heart in addition to you base plate earlier, from seafood mix to meaty fare.

New Zealand Rib Eye Set

Deluxe Seafood Set

Pork Loin Set

As for me, I enjoy my Deluxe Seafood Set gleefully. The set is equipped with fresh and juicy tiger prawns, bouncy fish balls, crabstick filament, Australian fresh scallop, sliced fish, brown squid, carrots and other veges. As the Macau Pork bone soup is boiled for longer period, it gets tastier and much more mouthwatering due to the extra goodness injected by the seafood platter during the cooking process.

Definitely a unique taste worth reminiscing later on.

While enjoying our majestic feast, we have the hospitable boss to share with us his many insightful ideas.

If you are keen on ala carte selections and your tummy still can take it, then you can consider these few which are specialty at this store. Some even specially brought in from Hong Kong itself.

Black Pearl (Hong Kong Century Egg) , which are best taken with the pickled ginger made originally in Hong Kong.

Deep Fried Hong Kong Fish Skin (Wan Yu), delightfully and addictively crispy!

Three Season Meat Ball that comprises of three major type of minced ingredients, i.e: chewy pork ball with mushroom,  fish ball that uses Threadfin fish (Ma Yau) and bouncy sweet prawn meat ball.

Sliced Grouper meat is fresh and tangy upon quick boiling. The juiciness and sweetness are still retained even after cooked.

As you devouring the scrumptious array of steamboat fare, don't forget to try out their another specialty; inhouse recipe of spiced sauces that are really, really good to go as a dipping to the steamboat dishes. As recommended by Steven, a 1: 0.5 ratio when mixing Hong Kong Chilli Sauce with Fermented Beancurd Sauce would create a wild and tangy relish that is set to bespeak you tremendously, especially when further doused with generous helping of parsley! Simply love it!

Well, having said that, their TomYam Sauce and Hawaiii sauce are equally tantalising too, alongside with Sambal Belacan Sauce, Sweet Sauce, Hong Kong Satay Sauce and Sambal Belacan Sauce for you to slowly choose from.

Drinks are nourishing especially those Chinese herbal tea like Lycium Chinense Health Tea or  Sugarcane and Water Seacress Tea, as Steven insist to have them prepared traditionally, i.e.: homey type of slow boiling, so to retain the oriental originality. Otherwise, you could opt for more fruity type like the Korean Yuzu Tea which uses pamelo as the main gist or even refreshing grape juice that tastes so naturally citrusy, unlike syrup flavor. Yum!

Sugarcane and Water Seacress Tea

Lycium Chinense Health Tea (Wolfberries)

Grape Juice

Korean Yuzu Tea- Hot

Korean Yuzu Tea- Cold

So our meal is pretty much perfectly wrapped up nourishingly in preparing us to usher the new year with a rejuvenated us and rejoicingly!

Let’s look forward to another resourceful year to come and why not asking your beloved mom to take a break this coming Chinese New Year from the kitchen and drop by here at the delicious authentic Hong Kong Steamboat to also experience the wondrous dining moment that we have enjoyed?
