T.G.I. Friday's @ Pavillion, Kuala Lumpur
Immediately
after the joyful month of Christmas, comes the last week of December that seems
beckoning for another round of jubilation to complete the year splendidly, surrounded
by hearty food to reward the dedicated and hardworking person you have been
throughout the year. At least that was what our boss show his appreciation to
us in a way :)
And
so, securing our table of 6 at T.G.I. Friday's, Pavillion’s outlet, after RSVP
made a couple of days ago. The Yule atmosphere and jovial mood could still be
felt with the Christmas embellishments still warmly decorating the interior of
the restaurant, exuding the comfy and gay ambience.
Besides
that, I was also pretty intrigued by the several artsy ornaments, extreme
sports equipment and some musical instruments like those attention- seeking
electric guitars that were part of the decoration as well. Classic and vintage
indeed!
Alright,
comfortable ID aside, it’s time to feed the gnawing tummy!
One
of the famous feast touted as the signature dish over here would be the
Tennessee from its Hot of The Grill series.
Tennessee Salmon
(MYR 43.90)
To
kick start the moment of the bon vivant, Tennessee Salmon seems to be
one of the ideal choices. The North Atlantic salmon fillet is lightly char
grilled till the skin is tad crispy before basted with the signature Tennessee
sauce. I love the fish meat very much as it was not overcooked and still
juicily sweet in its Omega 3 richness. Served with seasonal vegetables, Cheddar
cheese mashed potatoes, it was already heavenly!
Oh by the way, the mashed potatoes loaded decently with cheese were another hit too! Thumbs up!
Some
honey mustard sauce to add on my plate, besides the sweet and savory Tennessee
relish which shares a very close resemblance to our local rojak taste. Give it a real
try the next round when you are there.
Tennessee Steak (MYR 59.90)
Now
let’s welcome the big boss; Tennessee Steak.
Came
graciously as a thick 10-oz cut that was chilled and air flown from Australia,
this grain-fed steak was skillfully seared and char grilled to ideal
tenderness. Best to have it done medium to well, otherwise it might be tad
overly chewy to some. It is also served with seasonal vegetables like the
colourful zucchini, carrot cubes, Cheddar cheese mashed potatoes and the
special Tennessee sauce.
Grilled Lamb (MYR 36.90)
Another
fowl selection could be the Grilled Lamb too, apart from the famous beef. It
was succulent and adequately marinated
grilled lamb that was similarly served with seasonal vegetables and fries. One
thing that might cause my eyes to be green with envy would be those tempting
French Fries! They were soft and enjoyably coarsely cut. I don’t know why but just
love them dearly! Haha….
Tennessee Chicken
(MYR 31.90)
For
the more usual poultry foodie, Tennessee Chicken came rather quite scrumptious
too. The plate was nicely adorned with two juicy chicken breasts that were
basted in a sweet and savory glaze. A good alternative for the health-conscious
folks as it was served with nutritious seasonal vegetables that includes red
capsicums besides zucchinis, alongside with Cheddar cheese mashed potatoes and
the special Tennessee sauce.
Chocolate Mint
Milkshake (MYR
13.90)
As
though it was yet to be guilt-ridden over the sinful feast, here you go, the Chocolate
Mint Milkshake : ) Although the other diners were keeping their calories count in check by having Lemon Tea, i just couldn't be bothered much, at least for now, once in a blue moon, hehe. Well, luckily it was not that creamy as Pina Colada and yet,
still able to enjoy the milkiness from the chocolate milkshake with a light
hint of mint.
To
end our wonderful Year End meal on a sweet note, what’s best other than their
in house dessert?
Brownie
Obsession (MYR
14.90)
Logically,
I was supposed to be ‘obsessed’ by this Brownie Obsession, but the moment it
arrived actually quite a letdown to me, mainly because of the poor presentation
of the dessert. It would be best if the kitchen crew wculd serve this ice cream-dorned
dessert upon our order and not too earlier, else, it would end up like being
flooded miserably in a pool of melted lava so called. No doubt, this warm
brownie that was made with Ghirardelli chocolate-fudge sauce, topped with
vanilla ice cream, caramel and pecans was still able to pull off lusciously, albeit
being rather too chocolaty to me. No doubt, it would definitely please the chocoholics! ^_^
Blondie Fudge
Crunch (MYR
14.90)
Ensued
soon was the Blondie Fudge Crunch, as a replacement for the unavailability of
the Fried Cheeseroll. This warm Blondie cookie bar was topped with chocolate
fudge, sprinkled with pretzel pieces before finished off with freshly whipped
cream and caramel sauce. Texture of the cake-like pastry was rather chunky in
between, drier and less sweet than the brownie. .
Well, last but not least, I do hope it’s Friday everyday! LOL…….
Cheers folks till we cross path again!
