Blu Med Ristorante e Bar @ Boulevard, Mid Valley

Konichiwa!

Yeah, am back for another round of exquisite discovery on the other carte de jour by Blu Med Ristorante, albeit on a showery early evening.

Environment is cool and mellow as usual, senses are soothingly unlaxed by its warmly dimmed surrounding accompanied temperately by air-conditioned atmosphere.

Genial bonhomie is instantly felt upon arrival by Simon, Sonia and the rest of the crew. Great recommendations are being shared and has the gnawing tummy filled up delightfully.

Rare Cheesecake (MYR 17.90)
Oh, now that I know that this is the term commonly used whenever non-baked cheesecake comes into the picture, pardon me :D  So it isn’t that rare after all, haha…………. *pun intended

Magherita Pizza (MYR 19.90)
Thinly prepared crepe base that is set to amuse your palate addictively, layered with the right amount of savory paste with proportionate cheese dosage :) But I don’t mind if the basils are being added more for I really enjoy this herbs very much! It practically goes well with any pasta or cheesily baked selections.

Slightly thinner affair compared to the same recipe from Capriciossa.

So it’s the tapas time!

Yam Chips Baked with Cheese and Mayonnaise (MYR 5)

So this seemingly ubiquitous collation is being spiced up with some special recipes yet simply toothsome. The chips are being sprinkled with some Japanese mayo, alongside with some enticing tangy combination of Cajun spice, Parmesan cheese as well as the nearly gone unnoticeable crushed black pepper! Now it explains why there is tad mild spiciness over there, but fret not, it is really balmy.

Watermelon with Feta Cheese and Black Olives (MYR 5)

Well, this is one of the inquisitive sides that am looking forward for the night, after the creamy rare cheesecake.

It comes refreshing with chopped fresh olives especially after a rather sinful repast. The red water melon is undeniably voluptuously juicy and sweet, that to a certain extent that it actually overpower the milder taste of the feta and olives. Compared to the similar fare at Grill582, I prefer the latter for its slightly complex gustation impact but still maintaining each distinctive flavor of the ingredients. Anyway, it is just how I personally perceive it and it still boils down to each individual’s subjective predilection.

Everything is palatably awesome and nothing to fuss about. However, if there is one, it could be the Latte (MYR 12), which appears to me a bit diluted from the usual cuppa I have, knowing that it is from Illy beans, so I expected more of the fuller aroma. This feedback is being conveyed when asked by the committed crews, Simon, Sonia and Chef Ikeuchi, who seems to really underscore the satisfaction of its guests. So good job to a great team and look forward to many more innovative creations in time to come.

And that sums up that casual night I suppose, before calling it a day and hitting the bed soon, haha…….

Similarly, wish you guys a restful day ahead and many more exciting days to come!

Arigato gozaimas and thank you once again!

Cheerios!
