LWIN LEE | ROCKU YAKINIKU @ PAVILION KL

Yo koso よこ!

Fans of yakiniku around Klang Valley now have more reasons to thrill, with the emergence of a notable enterprise specializing in this classic Japanese barbeque; ROCKU Yakiniku, making appearance at the teeming Pavilion KL, situated strategically in the heart of the Golden Triangle. Its recent soft launch has seen beaming buff of Japanese BBQ enjoying the feast enthrallingly while indulging in the camaraderie of each other’s companion.

Setting the Malaysian dining scene ablaze with a new culinary trend dubbed as “restaurantainment”, diners at ROCKU Yakiniku could savour the new conceptualized Japanese Yakiniku in a smoke-free charcoal grill experience that accentuates the pure characteristics of its moreish offering comfortably within its casual yet edgy environment, infused with modern entertainment.

Newly opened at Dining Loft on Level 7 of Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, ROCKU Yakiniku spans over 3,500 sqt that accommodates up to 154 pax, defying the convention by creating a unique and chic atmosphere  for its guests where traditional Japanese BBQ cuisine is given a new breath with a combination of ‘live’ performances as well as other entertainment events such as magic shows and game shows (every Wed to Sat from 7pm onwards) to accompany them throughout their meal.

Live band serenading the crowds with few Japanese famous tracks that evening.

ROCKU Yakiniku presents a total flaming charcoal grill experience, where customers can select from its wide-array of fine meats, poultry, seafood and vegetables and grill them to their desires at their dining table. Diners would be spoilt for choices at the buffet counter and do remember to give their dipping a try too.

My favourite goes to their inhouse ‘calibrated’ chilli sauce which captures my tastebud with its sweet and mild spiciness. The sauce goes well with any ala cartes, depending on your preference.

Guests can indulge in a variety of beef which is imported from Australia and New Zealand- such as beef ribeye, beef blade and beef striploin. The seafood selection ranges from butter fish, green mussels to squid and shishamo, which is served with its roe intact.

Shishamo(Willow Leaf Fish)  and  Ko-mochi shishamo (Shishamo’s roe)

The seafood line-up are very fresh and remarkable, bursting in flavours and juiciness especially the thickly cut butter fish that is simply divine.

Several side dishes are also available such as miso soup, mini udon, chawanmushi, chukka hotate, chukka kurage, and many more, all comes together to complete your ROCKU Yakiniku’s buffet spread.

This revolutionized gastropub also offers various line of beer and sake, including the world’s finest sake from Gekkeikan which  was founded more than 300 years ago in Kyoto, Japan. For the simple and shrewd gourmands,  enjoying a sip or two of Kirin or Kochi Yuzu juice serves to be a satisfying chillers too.

Gracing ROCKU Yakiniku's exclusive opening event; Zlwin Chew, world famous Malaysian illusionist and magician, dazzling the crowds with cheeky and mesmerizing tricks with his interactive audience.

In a nutshell, dining over here promises a ‘foodfilling’ and scrumptious yakiniku moment with swift service to complement your gastronomic extravagance memorably.

So cheers for now and Carpe Diem!
