LWIN LEE | AMITY CAFE @ GALERIA HARTAMAS

Amity Café, embarked whimsically enticing in a friendly neighbourhood concept at the locality of Sri Hartamas, a place where I usually find my kind of quaint, little homey cafes that never fails to rejuvenate me sensuously.

Borned out of friendship, humble and peacefulness, Amity Café has been operating since last September with its charming vibes that draws many patrons over, seeking for some cozy corner to unwind on a leisure day.

Interior designed is mostly adorned with all the artful masterpieces from the partners, where the upper floor is much more flourishingly accentuated with more aesthetic touch besides assorted curios to alleviate the atmosphere.

Love the multi-faceted design especially some exposed brick walls to add on some vintage element.

Furniture at the al fresco are inhouse designed too.

Most dressing are inhouse made using fresh herbs and I really appreciate that a lot! The savouring of the herbs aroma is simply liberally engaging and a sheer delights to the gustation.

ALL DAY AMITY BREAKFAST (MYR 22.90)
A hearty breakfast with sausages, wild mushrooms, toast, baked beans, chicken ham, sautéed cherry tomatoes and scrambled eggs. I enjoy the lamb sausages so much- chewy and flavorful in each bites!

Safe to say this awesome plate has been executed flawlessly

PRAWN OGLIO PASTA- SPICY (MYR 20.90)
Pasta cooked up with dried and fresh chilly, mixed with secret spices, and topped with grilled sea tiger prawns in Amity’s special marinate.

CRISPY AMITY WRAP WITH CHICKEN (MYR 17.90)
Chicken dices marinated in Mexican flavours and wrapped with a crispy layer of tortilla, then topped with cheesy tomato sauce on a bed of addictive fries.

Actually it’s my first intriguing encounter of having my wrap fried such a decent way, where it still remains crispy even thought being left at the room temperature for some time. This must owe to a good pair of maestro hands here (=

Juicy chicken breast marinated with kayanne, oregano, basil, salt and pepper, alongside tomatoes purees infused with mozzarella and got spiced up with dashes of parsley. The spinach also blends in so well with cream that it makes it an extremely tantalizing grubs that you should not forget to try whenever dining here. Double thumbs up!

STICKY DATE CAKE WITH ICE CREAM (MYR 9.90)
This date cake remains one of the best seller so far.
Lightly glazed with butter scotch and deliciously baked by one of the Jason’s sister.

Don’t leave the café without trying their specialty flavoured coffee.

MINT CAFÉ LATTE (MYR 10.90)
Although am an ardent fan of anything minty, be it chocolate mint or mint relish for lamb dishes, this cup of joe does appear tad strong to me in a way, haha.

PANDAN CAFÉ LATTE (MYR 11.90)
Comparatively, I enjoy this pandan café latte more for its subtle fragrance of the srew pine leaves. Can I regard it as the Asian version of French Rose Latte? (=

Indeed a great place to explore interesting flavoured latte (=

DIY COFFEE
Served double shot of espresso with frothed milk, choc chip, cinnamon stick, cocoa powder and chocolate bites.

An artistic presentation undoubtedly with fancy glass and assorted components to delight both your visual and palate. Simply pour in the hot milk after you place some chocolate chips into the glass, before add in the espresso shot and stir with the cinnamon stick for some added spice aroma. Basically, there is no rule nor fixed sequence as to how you must drink it, after all, it’s DIY way, depending on your prefernce (=

Amity is a pork-free establishment but serves bottled beer as well as shisha for the fans alike. Upper floor is ideal for private function or even semi-casual gathering as the companions gets to loosen up their day by having a friendly match over a pool game.

Overall, the experience has been a wonderful and comforting one here with all the scrumptuos repast under the experienced hands of both Chef Haikal and barista John, for the inventive coffee beverages. The affable partner, Jason, is an ardent fan of bikes and cars. As much as he loves his bikes and cars, culinary topic slowly makes its way to his heart that spurs more passion further. So if you have any question regarding automobiles, try seeking his input and who knows, another project could be kicked off real soon! (=
