COFFEE AFFAIRS @ BISHOP STREET, PENANG

After a quick nibble at Dcova awhile ago, we decided to walk around in search for a much more satiating café hopping session, just a little while more before heading to the dinner for the two April birthday babies.

As Mr. Cool and I were strolling along the heritage streets, glancing the many random indie cafes that we encountered, finally we decided to hop over this quaint but unexplainably attractive enclave for our coffee affairs!

And yeah, there we are at the cozy yet serene surrounding of Coffee Affairs which presents itself as an esteemed coffee specialist for serious coffee drinker, complemented by interestingly crafted dessert corner.

CHOCOLATE MUFFIN (MYR 6)
Not too bad a pick, but would be great if it’s slightly moister

PEANUT BUTTER BLUEBERRY MILLIE CREPE (MYR 13)
As am torn between cheesecake or millie crepe, that intriguing pairing of sweet savory filling got the better of me, hence this slice!

Actually, this combination of salty peanut butter and fruity blueberry seems fine to me, like other playful nosh when you’re enjoying Swedish meatball with lingo berry jam or turkey ham bagel with strawberry jam (=

The only tricky part which they might want to look into is that the alternating layers of crepe seems easily detachable, most likely due to the difference in texture and viscosity of the sauce that causes the slipperiness- peanut butter the resistant, blueberry jam the slider (=

Up next, single origin brewed via Filter Method

BRAZIL SANTOS- HAND POUR (MYR 10)
First sip hits your tongue with bold, robust notes, before finished off with a rounded palate. Pretty strong to me and low in acidity.

If only times are at our side, I might stay a little longer, trying out other beans too. By the time I had the last bite of the millie crepe and the final sip of the Brazil Santos, it’s already 7.15pm, which just on time for us to head for the dinner at Carnarvon Street before another impromptu discovery of a new gastropub in the vicinity, so stay tuned!

Cheers for now and follow us at Carpe Diem for more ‘food-ful’ discoveries!  ℒℴѵ
