24-HOURS CAFÉ | PAT KIN PAT SUN CAFÉ 不见不散茶餐厅 (PKPS) @ KUCHAI LAMA

Guess this is the first time for me to actually stumble upon a 24-hour Hongkie Café apart from the usual names like Wong Kok and Kim Gary.

It was nearly passed midnight when we decided to stop by in order to grab something light after some cocktail tasting event. (I had sampled over 7 types of interesting concoctions some 2 hours earlier, whee!^^) Don’t worry, am still sober and most importantly, the chauffeur is still very much disciplined to stay clear from any booze while safeguarding me testing the drink so to ensure everything is alright =)  Merci beaucoup ………….

Will share the cocktail tasting experience soon. But for now, let’s get back to the decent nosh that we had over her to sorta prevent any possible hangover risk, hehe.

The place was brightly illuminated in orangey colour and it was quite surprising to see so many people still flocking in the restaurant albeit it’s already passed 12 a.m., jeez! And that also means, it’s still pretty safe to hang around here for awhile rather than a total quiet place at this wee hour, no?

As reflected in their menu, PKPS Café focuses mainly on Malaysia’s diverse food culture whilst at the same time also integrates Hong Kong's food culture with creativity and diversified fashionable theme cafe.

The vibrant hue does inject some comfortable and relaxing throughout the dining environment with food are served at rather fair price.

BOILED COKE & GINGER (MYR 5.25)
Can’t think of any better drink to warm yourself up at night, so here you go, hot ginger-based beverage!

EGG IN BOILING ALMOND TEA (MYR 5.80)
Finally had my first raw egg-based drink after hearing good recommendation by Garfield that early morning. He seems to be very convincing that I won’t taste the rawness of the egg when taken in a really boiled beverage. And this new pairing with Almond Milk instead of the conventional Milk seems pretty good too, hehe. True enough, not much of eggy taste being detected, perhaps the aroma of almond milk was more overpowering, heh.

STEAMED GOLDEN BUN (MYR 6.20)
Ain’t gonna miss these golden custard bun whenever visiting dim sum eateries.  It’s my all-time fave! Forget about any possible guilt to have it pass 1230am, cause the temptation was simply hard to resist! Saw the oozing salted egg paste? It’s beckoning to you! ^^

DEEP FRIED DURIAN BUN (MYR 5.85)
To double up the joyfulness, we later ordered another plate of pungent snacks, durian buns! Alright, it might not be as luscious as when to having it freshly peeled from the thorny skin itself, but at least it’s suffice to fix my craving temporarily for this alluring King of Fruits! Besides that, the bun was decently deep fried till fluffy and not oily at all. Yum yum……………

As the tagline “Pat Kin Pat Sun” mean two parties will parted company only upon meeting up in Chinese, it does make this casual spot an ideal place to hang out with buddies, family gathering or just to catch up over some light chattering anytime, anywhere. So, it’s quite a nice place overall (=

While the write up on the aforementioned cocktail tasting is still in progress, you may first read my  Glenlivet Whisky Tasting (12,15 and 18 yo) tasting here.

Or hover by here if you’re a fan of Single Malt Bruichladdich Scotch Whisky. I personally love The Botanist Gin dearly!

Or ....perhaps some Tequila Tasting too ? ^^
