KOKORO CONFE @ SRI HARTAMAS

Having been gracing the tranquil neighbourhood of Sri Hartamas for only 2 weeks during our visit, this quaint little Japanese café charms customers with its cozy and welcoming ambiance diffused by its minimalist set up.

Embarked to be a place where epicurean could not only relish in moreish, authentic recipes from the Land of Rising Sun, but also shops for the myriad choices of Japanese products that consumers could buy and enjoy cooking up their favourite dishes using the premium imported ingredients, or savoury and cutesy snacks to munch in between meals. Hence, the Confe name comes into picture where is it thoughtfully derived harmoniously from Confectionary and also Café!

And why Kokoro?
Kokoro in Japanese simply means Heart; and this reflects the earnest spirit of the team from Kokoro Confe in upholding the spirit ofOmotenashi in providing great service and hospitality to their guests.

The kitchen is currently helmed by Yamaguchi-san, who hails from Kantō region in Japan, where food is best appreciated in their most natural ways as far as possible, with little to no artificial flavourings at all. This explains why the menu here is kept salubriously crafted the indigenous way and yet, tasted stellar!

NAGAIMO TUNA SPAGHETTI (MYR 19.90)
This has got to be a more Zen way of enjoying your favourite pasta, where the usual creamy white sauce is given an interlude to make way for a healthier alternative- blended nagaimo before served with tuna flakes and spaghetti. It might appear bit slimy- due to its starchy texture of nagaimo which in fact boasts many nutritional benefits, even in its raw form. And yes, nagaimo is safe to be consumed fresh.

CHICKEN TERIYAKI RICE SET (MYR 22.90)
This typical recipe to the bare eyes however is set to delight your tastebuds amazingly with its brilliantly marinated tender chicken meat, drenched with house special sauce that is so lingering lasting that got you hooked on for more.

CARBONARA SABA SPAGHETTI (MYR 18.90)
For those who can’t leave without western pasta, you could give this plate a try, which has been toothsomely crafted with tastily done saba fish in homemade cream sauce. I mean, who don’t love this freshly grilled oceanic treats, coupled with nicely deep fried nagaimo strips? Most importantly, the sauce is done just nice and not overly cloying. Yum!

MAYO GARLIC GRILLED SALMON RICE SET (MYR 25.90)
The fish fillet was pleasantly juicy with a thin crispy skin on the side and the accompanied mayo garlic relish was especially stellar, where both savory and sweetness harmoniously aligned together.

HOKKAIDO MISO RAMEN (MYR 20.90)
One of the dishes that closely endearing to the soul. Slurpy ramen warmly served in a bowl of umami broth. And i particularly enjoy my ramen with loads of sweet, pulpy sweet corns!

UDON WITH KARAAGE CHICKEN (MYR 15.90)
