DAY 2 @ SUPERSTAR LIBRA CRUISE

DAY 2

The shutterbug instinct then called for early rising the very next day in hope to catch the break of the day. However, seems like some thick clouds from the night before still missing the sun very much.

Well, it might not be the perfect dawn but the peacefulness on the cruise with the pristine surrounding make it up back. I mean, it’s not an everyday thingy that you get to wake up from a cruise, in the middle of the sea to view the aurora right? Smitten!

Subsequently, we went on to Ocean Palace to revel in Chinese cuisine for breakfast. Even so, some lovely pastries and juices are also available for those who prefer fusion in their diet.

Seriously, you would be surprise by the toothsomeness of the food dished up by the esteemed chef on the cruise.

After filling up the tummy, we proceed to the much awaited slot- Bridge Tour where it’s a rare moment that you get to meet and greet the sailing master behind the cruise; Captain and Officer.

Say hello to the Finland Captain and his crewmen!

Personally, it was such an interesting experience to get a glimpse on how seafarers work behind the scene with the many sophisticated machineries and state of the art navigation under their care which aye requires paramount skills. That’s indeed very impressive and also comes with due responsibility as it ascribes to the safety of all cruise guests. Both hands down- salute!

And for lunch, we were given the opportunity to sample prize-winning chefs rendition of Chinese-Asian culinary over at Spices Restaurant which served up a mouthwatering array of Halal-certified Malay cuisine. Sounds cliché but tasted impressively stellar, for the fact that no flame are involved throughout the cooking process and yet, able to unveil delectable repast. Double thumbs up!

The lobster was really fresh- its juiciness and bounciness speak for itself, while the accompanied drumstick was equally outstanding with its supreme taste that got the flavour evenly penetrated.

Times really flies before the next itinerary up- Phuket Free & Easy time as the cruise docks at Phuket Shorex, where shuttle bus to Patong is made availabele to fetch cabin guests to the inner town, some one hour away from the pier. That calls for some shopping time, if not local food eating spree I guess? Hehe…. Otherwise, cabin guests who prefer to rest on cruise could stay on and enjoy the cruise inhouse prepared dinner as this activity is optional.

A quick stroll at the sunny Patong Beach………..

………… followed by some Haagen-Dazs ice creams (how could any sweet tooth forgot its timely sugar fix, hehe), before queuing awhile at the packed local eatery at Restaurant 6 for some tasty Thai dinner.

Bar B Q Pork
Phad Thai- Seafood
Fried Morning Glary with Oyster Sauce
Coconut Juice
Thai Milk Tea
Omelette
Seafood Tom Yam

A happy tummy then calls for a walkathon at the nearby Robinson mall where again, gelato comes to spice up the evening with some goodly Durian Almond ice cream by Dairy Cream.

Wow, certainly blown by it! (Alright, not so much of a Durian buff, you could bound this off, haha)

We then went back to the shuttle by 9pm and return to Phuket Shorex to back onboard SuperStar Libra. Perhaps was rather high on sugar that day (2 rounds of ice cream earlier),  so I went for Supper on cruise that evening after still feeling pumped up with energy, haha.

No joke, these are all for supper! Food coma yet? (=
