THE TERRACE @ THE KL JOURNAL HOTEL

Tucked in the middle of Golden Triangle slightly off the main road of Jalan Bukit Bintang is where the understated boutique hotel of The KL Journal is residing. Its strategic location is unrestrainedly good as it’s easily accessible and well connected to those major tourist attractions of the metropolitan city of Kuala Lumpur such as KL famous food streets like Jalan Alor, luxurious retails outlets, high street brand shopping malls, iconic cultural spots, vibrant specialty bars with live music and most importantly, it’s very near to public transportation namely Monorial and MRT Bukit Bintang, which are just stones’ throw away.

Stylishly designed with modern retro vibes with a touch of local unique flavour, this hotel has got the essentials under good hands such as great Wifi connectivity, flexible communal space, superb location, various thoughtful amenities as well as pleasant inhouse dining eateries.

The Terrace- a lush al fresco oasis that opens out from a creative common space called The Hub, is designed with a mixture of intimate lounge setting that features a list of promising menu that includes local delights too.

SWEET POTATO CHIPS (MYR 15)
For some refreshing surprises other that the usual potato fries, now we have sweet potato strings instead! Came nicely fried and remained moist within, tickling your taste buds with its natural savory sweetness before tossed with some light seasoning and tada- there it goes a simple and toothsome snacks! Be warned- they can be very addictive though, hehe.

GRILLED ATLANTIC SALMON SOUVLAKI (MYR 39)
Any fish lovers like me would certainly be on cloud nine when sampling these uber juicy thick salmon medallions on skewers that is tastily grilled with masala spice and served with mint chutney. I personally love masala spice very much for that unique herbs somehow often goes along very well with most seafood, unleashing the other promising gastronomic experience.

CURRY FISH HEAD (MYR 50 for up to 4 pax)
Special dish of the week that comes with refillable rice, pickles and papadum.

Reminds me of homey recipes where a bowl or two of white rice suffice to translate it into a really satisfying grubs, deliciously smothered with flavoured curry gravy with red snapper in it. Not forgetting the generous amount of assorted veggies that accompanied such as crunchy long beans, juicy tomatoes, brinjal and many more to spice up your meal further. Most importantly, it’s not too spicy and comparatively tasted slightly milder than conventionally prepared locally as they are using Western herbs- surprise! (=

There are 3 types of room available here namely Deluxe King, Deluxe Twin and also Journal Suites.
Besides that, the rooms at The KL Journal are set up with a soothing palette of soft neutral tones with colour accent that promotes a good night’s sleep. All rooms are equipped with ergonomic mattresses, micro fibre and duck down pillows, bathrobes, electronic safe, large flat screen TVs, a functional work desk and high pressure rain shower, hooray!

The Suites even has its own coffee machines for its guests to enjoy his or her cuppa at any convenient time.

A new kind of boutique chic- where nostalgia meets urban modishness, The KL Journal offers guests a comfy and yet good value stay for everyone- from solo travelers to bigger group and family getaway in the heart of the city.  So time to check it out soon!
