BIG BANG’S LEE SEUNGRI’S AORI RAMEN NOW OPENS @ PAVILION KL, MALAYSIA

Brainchild of one of the world’s biggest Korean boy band BIG BANG by Lee Seungri, Aori Ramen originally hailed from Japan as well as Korea when the oppa fell in love with the toothsome delicacy from The Land of Rising Sun who then decided to bring it over to Cheongdam-dong in 2016, before adding subtle iconic Korean twist to it. He opines that besides drawing happiness from a successful artiste career, it is also tantamount to share delicious food to everyone for earnest food makes the tummy happier too. As such, Seungri decided to also adopt food as a gift to spread more happiness through the flavours of Aori Ramen.

Designed to be customer-centric, this trendy ramen house allows its diners to customize their level of spiciness in the ramen broth, fusing with Aori Ramen’s special sauce apart from having the options to further add on your favourite side dishes.

In addition to the tatami table set up as well as VIP rooms which caters for guests in 6 pax and above, individual diner who prefer to have some privacy while relishing in Aori Ramen’s culinary has the options to secure a seat at their solo dining booths which allows you total personalized enjoyment where you could temporarily keep your bags and other belongings at the compartment slightly above your head after seated, next to the “Call” button once you are ready to submit your order. This design is the first in Malaysia, pretty cool huh?

The blind would be put down once your meal is served. Hence, you get to enjoy at your utmost privacy

Don Kotz Ramen
Slury-licious special 1.1mm Hoso noodles is mouthwateringly served with Aori Ramen’s saporous soup, accompanied by toppings such as marinated barbecued pork, soft boiled egg, dried seaweed, bamboo shoot, Korean leek kimchi and beansprout.

There are 2 choices of ramen style so far- Aori Ramen Lite which comes with 2 toppings or go for the extravaganza style of Aori Ramen that comes with 5 toppings namely barbecued marinated pork, Japanese bunching onion, soft boiled egg, dried seaweed and bamboo shoot.

Choose your level of spiciness and the chilli oil would be catered accordingly. Personally, my tastebuds seems to be enjoying the broth when calibrated at a spicier tone for that somehow further accentuates the spice degustation. For those with milder tongue, it’s safe to start off with Basic or None spiciness at all. So let’s discover your preferred taste soon!

2 kind of toppings namely barbecued marinated pork and Japanese bunching onion.

Aori Ramen | MYR 35
5 kind of toppings namely barbecued marinated pork, Japanese bunching onion, soft boiled egg, dried seaweed and bamboo shoot.

Also optional to add on your favourite ala carte sides too- in this case, the melt-in-the-mouth barbecued marinated pork, Korean Leek kimchi and my fave seaweed!

So much so I enjoy the robust soupy bowl especially the unique noodle, let’s not forgets the don too.

TKG (Tamago Kake Gohan) | MYR 10
This traditional Japanese speciality comes in a bowl of Japanese rice, tastefully topped with wobbly egg yolk, julienned seaweed, Japanese bunching onion besides the savory marinated minced pork which when mixed all together, give arise to a very racy, well-combined flavour that somehow keep you hooked on scoop after scoops.
Why not when I actually able to gobble down this bowl all by myself after enjoying the moreish Hoso noodle earlier on? Masshishoyo!

And perhaps few gulp of cooling Asahi Beer to wrap off the heaty feast, ichiban!

The process of preparing the broth is passionately done where the soup is boiled over at least 5 hours to achieve the desired umami taste using both chicken and pork bones. Rather unique and more interesting than the conventional very strong porky soup yea? For one who enjoys milder porky soup base like me would certainly delights in this version of harmoniously fluxed two type of bones’ broth that results in those essences balanced of sweetness.

On top of that, their ‘char siew’, a.k.a barbecued marinated pork, has been marinated at least 24 hours ahead prior to serving to ensure thorough permeation of flavours throughout the dainty slices of lovely marbling cut that just melt in your mouth effortlessly. Masshitta!!!

Aori Ramen first greeted the public back in June 20, 2016 in Cheongdam-dong, Korea before expanding both locally and globally, spanning up to 35 outlets- 31 in Korea, 3 in China, 1 in Vietnam and the latest addition as well as the first branch in Malaysia, at Pavilion Mall Kuala Lumpur which started titillating the palate of Klang Valley on 9th June 2018.
