LWIN LEE | MFC FOOD WORLD @ FAHRENHEIT 88 SHOPPING MALL
Mr Chai, the mastermind
behind this unique, clean and sleek food kiosk concept who have travelled and
spent some time in Taiwan over the past 10 years. Being intrigued by this
one-of-its-kind concept back then, Mr Chai then decided to bring back such
establishment to his mother land so that the local folks here would also have
the opportunity to experience a comfortable dining environment even though you
are always on the go, for the service rendered is efficient and wholesome food
is served.
The operations of MFC Food
World here at Fahrenheit 88 is seen to be very well-kept, hygienic in food
preparation and smokeless surrounding that resembles the modern food court
arena, if not better. Unlike the usual food court which is very smoky more
often than not, MFC provides a conducive environment with effective air
ventilator so diners could go back with happy tummy without feeling body
overwhelmed with kitchen smoke.
Food quality and freshness
are of utmost emphasis here, as they believe food tastes best at its natural
way, hence no MSG but only seasoned skills being part of their toothsome
recipes. Even the water filter machine for consumption is purposely imported
from German for the best filtered but still mineral-enriched water to keep you
hydrated healthily.
Another reason being is
that the a balanced and clean water proportion is crucial for them to maintain
the quality of their house special tea, where the tea is boiled and changed
every 4 hours and only fresh milk is used instead of the usual cost-saving
powdered form seen elsewhere. Hence, taste wise might be lighter but so long
it’s healthier and uses natural ingredients, why not?
SIGNATURE BRAISED BEEF NOODLE (MYR 13.80)
Soup
based, this secret recipe is gotten from a Taiwanese Chef, to come up with this
chewy braised beef served with handmade noodle.
Famous beef noodles with
recipes brought in from Taiwan, using specially chosen meat gotten form India
for that specific intermuscular and fats proportion. Beef bones and meats
are thoroughly boiled for at least 4 hours to achieve that sweetness
consistency, with the meat being further stir-fried with inhouse special
marinades before being braised again till tender. Generally am not a fan of
beef, but this somehow wins me over and leave me with more craving for next
return.
CHEESY BOLOGNESE (MYR 13.90)
Pasta
plates are also available for those seeking western fares. This particular red
sauce spaghetti is heartily dished out with zesty tomato puree with the lightly
melted mozzarella cheese on the top. Portion is done just nice, not too less
nor too heavy.
SEAWEED POPIAH ROLL (MYR 6.90)
It’s
refreshingly light and crispy crackling in every bites. Easily makes one of the
best snacks for grubs on the go.
NASI AYAM RENDANG (MYR 8.9)
Certainly
not one dish to be underestimated. Tenderly chicken thigh cooked in flavorful
curry broth, goes well with the fluffy and fragrantly cooked rice. This is the
few place where the rice is pretty outstanding and got me hooked on for more
after the nasi lemak I tried at KampongKravers previously.
POPCORN CHICKEN (MYR 6.80)
BLACK PEPPER CHICKEN RICE (MYR 8.90)
Comes
with decent peppery taste and not overly spicy. Chicken meats are succulently
stir-fried till fragrant and topped off with a sunny side up.
HANDMADE DUMPLING CHICKEN (MYR 7.80 – 6 PCS)
Bounteous
chicken meat that are coarsely minced to present that meaty and chewy texture.
FAMOUS HOKKIEN MEE FROM IMBI ROAD (MYR 9.90)
Indeed
the famously talked about in town- Hokkien Noodle from the street of Imbi Road.
But guests could now enjoy it in a more comfy ambiance with less crowded area.
Each strand of noodles are evenly coated with the dark and savory sauce and
fried till aromatic. And the best part is, the foreign ingredient that I often
freak out- acid boric is almost non-existent to tamper with my tasty Hokkien
noodle, yum yum.
After a
spread of wholesomeness, it’s time to gush down the throat with some salubrious
drinks too.
DOUBLE YAKULT GREEN TEA (MYR 6.90)
MANGO FRUIT PUNCH (MYR 6.90)
MFC Food World is
pork-free, so any walks of like come drop by anytime to enjoy the mouthwatering
Oriental cuisines such as the Imbi famous stir-fried noodles, which is really
full of ‘wok hei’. In case you are wondering what does MFC stands for? It’s
